About

My Name is Arianna Benedict. Most people call me Ana (Ah-nuh) for short. Birth has been a passion of mine for a long time. When I was in my late teens, I knew I wanted to work in the birth world, but I wasn't sure how exactly. Then I heard of Doulas. It wasn't until I went to my sisters first birth that I knew that I truly wanted to be a doula. I saw a need that I could fill.I believe EVERY woman should be able to obtain doula services if she desires to do so. My goal as a doula is to help you have the best birth experience possible.I do that by providing:Evidence based information. I believe that if you don't know what your options are, you don't have any. I can provide help with creating your birth preferences (birth plan). I want to help you to feel informed and confident about your birth.Emotional Support. I will be there to encourage you, listen to you and be your shoulder to cry on. I understand that birth can be tough, but you are too.Physical support. I will do my best to help ease your pain and bring comfort. Whether it be by helping you change positions, holding your hand, counter pressure, massage or breastfeeding support, etc.I have taken Birth & Postpartum Doula training through DONA international and I'm a Certified Childbirth Educator through Birth Beautifully.I live in Paris, Michigan with my best friend and husband Devan, our daughter Alice and our son Josiah and our daughter Lucy and youngest son Lucas.

"Ana attended and assisted me in my 2 homebirths.
She was an essential part of my birth team. She really brought a calming and knowledgeable presence to my pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey.
She was calm, helpful and mindful during my labor. She helped physically support me in labor with counter pressue, relaxation techniques and massage.
Her presence helped my husband feel reassured and eased his feelings of uncertainty, especially in that time before my midwives arrived at my house.
The right Doula can make a difference for any birth.
I highly recommend Ana!"

"I cannot recommend Ana enough as a birth doula. She is gifted in her ability to support women during the most vulnerable time of their lives. She is empathetic, educated, present, and calming. She is an absolutely great addition to any birth team. My first birth was far from the natural birth I had planned. It turned into a long and traumatic birth experience and Ana stayed for the entire several day duration, through snowstorms and all. She helped my husband and I navigate unwanted interventions, she gave my husband much needed respite, and she helped with counter pressure for literal days. I hope every woman who is reading this review has their dream birth which Ana would be more than equipped to support you during but also know that she is fully prepared to handle things if they don’t go as you plan. She is a part of our next birth and it brings our family great comfort knowing she will be there with us again. 10/10 recommend!!!"-Mara K.

"She is amazing! Had her there during my first vbac. She was calm, stayed by my side the whole time. Contractions kept stalling and she helped me get them going again by lots of walking and squatting. She is very knowledgeable and knew the right spots to push to ease the pain. She kept my nerves calm and stay focused on my goal of having a healthy, successful vbac. She stayed all the way till baby, husband and I were all settled in and ready to just rest. I highly recommend her!"- Randi L.

"Had Ana at my second birth and it was a such a help she looks ahead and easily figured out what l wanted with little fuss. I have arranged to have her help for my 3rd birth and would highly recommend having a doula. You have someone in your corner who is trained to help, it makes things way easier and you don't have to explain what you need every second."- Liz M.

"Arianna is the best! She truly loves what she does and it shows. She was at my middle child's birth and that was my best and easiest birthing experience yet. Her knowledge and attentiveness helped me to feel at peace, focused and in control throughout my whole labor and delivery. She helped me to achieve my dream birth and she can help you too! Don't over think it, just hire her! You won't regret it!"- Heidi F.

"Ana came in at a hard point in our birth as we originally did not plan for any hardships. As the situation developed and time progressed both my wife and I were absolutely exhausted. We found ourselves in need of a team to help us as we transferred from the birth center to the hospital fearing the worst. Ana was 100% the right person to help manage a very scary situation and continually advocated for us throughout the whole process. Today my wife is pregnant with twins and we are ABSOLUTELY bringing Ana along for this one too. I feel so lucky to have her as a resource and 100% recommend her for anyone looking for a quality doula."
- Benjamin B.

"Arianna helped me with my last birth and she was very attentive, helpful, caring, encouraging and comforting! She is always soft spoken and patient. She has a lot of experience with pregnancy, and caring for babies. Did I mention she is the second oldest of 11 children? If you are looking for a doula that is friendly and knowledgeable then she is the one for you!"
-Heather E.
